Public restrooms often have uncomfortable and unhygienic toilet seats. Users are concerned about cleanliness and hygiene, leading to a negative perception of the establishment's overall cleanliness. Current solutions like paper toilet seat covers are often seen as inadequate and uncomfortable.
Pain Points
- Uncomfortable and unhygienic toilet seats in public restrooms
- Negative perception of establishment cleanliness
- Inadequate and uncomfortable paper toilet seat covers
I recently came back from a visit to Japan. As I was wandering around I stumbled into a bathroom to go handle some business... Per my usual 'routine' I grabbed a dry piece of toilet paper and went to wipe down the seat when I noticed what looked like a hand sanitizer or a soap dispenser, labeled a "toilet seat cleaner". Simply take some toilet paper, dispense the liquid, and wipe down the seat... I thought to myself, "why havent I ever seen this before". Such a simple idea that hasn't really been implemented in the USA. I started thinking about the potential in bars, restaurants, gyms, yoga studios, schools, stadiums, etc. Now I understand that the whole idea of disinfecting a toilet seat doesn't really matter and that they aren't really all that threatening to use in a public restroom, but, the problem is being aided right now by using those stupid and uncomfortable paper toilet seat covers and to me it is a play on overall guest experience and cleanliness perception of the establishment as whole. Would love your guys thoughts on this overall as a concept. Looking forward to the discussion!
